Creating Light Leak Effect - Experimentation

I decided to experiment with overlaying a light leak effect onto some of my footage. Through look at how to create the light leak effects on YouTube I gained inspiration to create my own using the '4 color gradient' effect.
I removed one of the colours from the gradient, made two of the points shades of red and the third point blue. Using key framing I changed the point positions to move around and also changed the opacity throughout the footage to make it look like an active light leak. 

Importing After Effects files into Premiere

I wanted to find out how to transfer files which I had created in After Effects into Premiere. I already knew how to export from After Effects which I could just then put into Premiere however this could reduce the quality because the video would over all be exported twice.
The way I found was to go to 'import' in Premiere and select an After Effects file, then select the composition file I wished to use.

I then dragged the file I wanted onto the Premiere timeline, keeping the video at full quality.

Double Exposure of Trees - Experimenting

Whilst filming in Easton, I aimed my camera up at trees as walked past them to film the tree shot. 
I copied the original footage of the trees and horizontally flipped it. This was then overlapping the first copy so I learnt how to crop video in After Effects so that the two copy's of the tree footage were in symmetry with each other creating a double exposed video. It may not fully class as double exposure however I still take inspiration from the music videos I analysed to do this. I thought this edited symmetry effect looked mesmerizing and suited the patterns and manipulative look that chill genre music videos usually have.

Firework Footage - Experimenting

After I filmed some footage of fireworks in Easton, I wanted to experiment with the visuals in After Effects and I thought that this footage would look interesting in reverse so I learnt how to reverse footage from YouTube. I then found out how to crop and feather the edge of videos so that I could place two of the fire work videos next to each other.

Grain Removal

I noticed when looking at some of the footage a filmed in London that it was slightly grainy because it was a night time, so I had to put the ISO slightly higher than usual, causing grain/visual noise. 

I found out how to remove this grain on YouTube to edit the footage in After Effects with the Remove Grain tool. I then adjusted the settings of the tool until enough of the grain was gone to look better quality.
